The Festival The artform of dance on screen gained a new wave of interest in the late 1990’s when a new film, ‘Constellation Change’, celebrated the work ,dancers and 10th anniversary of the Carol Straker Dance Company in London. After a premiere at Columbia Tri-Star (Sony Pictures Europe) in 1998, the film went on to win Best Documentary at the Du Pre’ Awards in France. The unwavering interest since then have developed into what is now a truly International annual festival celebrating the art of dance on film. Each year , over 200 entries are submitted from around 24 countries, comprising Filmed Choreography, Innovative Works and Documentaries. Our mission remains to showcase the shortlisted screenings and guest appearances at London’s most popular cinema venues. Our 9th Film Festival takes place in June 2009.
