6:30 Doors / 6:45 FIlm Water Flowing Together

Jock Soto, the Navajo and Puerto Rican ballet superstar, began his love affair with dance at the age of three, performing a Native American hoop dance on his Arizona reservation. At 14, this richly talented dancer was awarded a full scholarship to the School of American Ballet, which led to his appointment to the New York City Ballet two years later. Water Flowing Together is an examination of this now forty-year-old legend as he contemplates a life after dance. Interspersed with visits to his Navajo homeland and examinations of his culture and his life
out of the spotlight, this documentary is a rich tapestry created with candid interviews and old family photos, not to mention classic dance rehearsal footage and his breathtaking performances. After twenty-four years, Jock Soto may be hanging up his slippers, but he is far from retiring his position as the world's most inspiring gay Navajo role model.
